One side is somewhat shy, quiet, eager to please, contemplative, sweet, and serious. The other is a bit saucy, flirty, bold, quick-tempered, and aggressive. Both sides, however, are hard working, quick to act, intelligent, honest, and streetwise. She also has a very high value system. |
| Personal History: Gemini came quietly into the world via Kerrville, TX before her parents were married. Her father, Eric Connor, was only rarely present throughout her first two or three years of life until he married her mother, Fiona, when she was four. After the wedding, family was inseparable. Their home was somewhat secluded and Gemini spent most of her time exploring the hill country. Her father gifted her with her Irish wolf hound when she was twelve and both he and the dog often accompanied her on her treks through the hills. Her mother also liked the outdoors but preferred to sit on the porch and create hand tooled leather masterpieces. Gemini would often wander home at the end of the day and sit at her mother's feet, learning through osmosis and soon mastering the craft. When Gemini began her schooling she soon realized that her parents' rough and naturistic lifestyle was unpopular with the children in town. At school, they whispered about the "nature girl", about her grass stained jeans and the ugly boots she wore. She tried to keep her clothes clean and the leaves out of her hair- tried to keep the hideously uncomfortable "girly shoes" on her feet. But, in the end, her jeans got stained, her sandals and slippers were too soft for the woods and soon she had developed a pattern: fight to defend herself of fight to please the unappeasable. By the time Gemini was in middle school she was respected- tolerated if not accepted. She lived with her parents in their safe haven, their own little world outside of town. Her parent's rarely left but Gemini would often go into town to buy leather or necessities for the house, which her love struck parents often forgot about. It was she who first heard about the deadly virus- first noticed the signs of it in the community. She could do nothing but watch it tear through the city. Because of their reclusive location, Eric and Fiona were among the last to be infected. Gemini was already blossoming into a young lady when her parents became ill and was very mature for her age. She managed to remain calm as she watched them fade before her eyes. She remained calm as she buried them in the woods and she remained calm as she searched every nook and cranny of the house for supplies- she knew it would be impossible to stay in her parents’ house after watching them die there. She didn't fall apart until she found her fathers beaten leather journal hidden in the back of the pantry. She cried as she read the details of her father's other family for the first time. She could feel the agony in his words as he wrote of the two daughters he had left behind, who had cut him out of their lives for loving Gemini's mother. She didn't know whether they would accept her, the girl their father had shown his loving side too, and the daughter of the woman he had left them for. But, she could try. She could find them and hope that they could learn to like her. She knew she would leave this house where so many good memories haunted her, knew she would seek out her half- sisters. They were all she had left. After packing as much food and as many supplies as she could into her largest rucksack, Gemini set off North. Her father's journal had left his other family in Oklahoma, so she would go there first, looking for the two half sisters she had never known. She had no hope that their mother was alive but, maybe, her half siblings had survived the virus. Over the next few years, Gemini and Callum searched the country, coming into contact with the numerous small "tribes" that had formed. It was difficult. She often traded her leather goods for food and water, soap and raw leather, and even, once, for a night in a real bed, but she was still hungry more often than not. If no one would trade, she resorted to hunting as her father had taught her. She would rather live on meager catches than steal from the tribes she ran into... or obtain food for favors. Her youth and what many of the men she encountered called "innocent beauty" made it difficult for her to stay around them for long. Their crude offers to trade a night instead of her leather scared her and she found that she would rather feel her stomach rumble its complaints than stay too long as the subject of their lust-driven aggression... aggression that often made her leave her leather treasures behind or risk being hurt. She never settled down, never stayed in one place for too long, stayed only long enough to trade goods for a little food and as much information as could be obtained. She would keep moving until she knew what had become of the other half of her family. She continued working her way slowly north after she found no trace of Tabitha or Libby in Oklahoma. And now at last she has heard of a girl named Libby in the city of Sundance, Wyoming. |
